There is a reason she is given the nickname "God's Tongue."

Granddaughter of the principal of the most powerful and reputable culinary school in the world, Nakiri Erina was destined for greatness. With her skill alone, she became a member on the Student Council Elite, ranked one of the Top 10 best students in the academy. With her ability to distinguish every detail of the dish, from the mistakes of the cook to solutions for the dish to improve, just from her tongue alone, it is of no wonder why she is highly regarded by many top restaurant executives.

While she may be treated like a princess, her situation can be best described as a bird in a gilded cage. The reason she acts so haughtily and sees food in black and white stems from her treatment and nurturing as a child. Her harsh lessons meant she is unable to see the gray in the culinary world, the possibility to learn from making a mistake, the additional ways one can see and treat dishes. The academy may be what she needs to break out of the cage, but it can only help her if she is willing to interact with those who cannot see as high as she could.

And so, she will continue to do as she is told until someone reaches out to her and if she is confident enough that the hand will provide her with the salvation she seeks.
