What is it like to be a queen? To rule over the masses as if they were nothing but ants, mere pawns in the presence of royalty? To be the only one in control, the one with all the power?

A commoner could obviously never understand the feeling. And normally, royalty would not be able to understand how the commoner feels, either. But in Shokuhō Misaki's case, she can easily relate to the thoughts of these worthless peasants. After all, she can read their minds. Literally.

Among the top of the espers born thanks to the special curriculum of Academy City, Misaki wields a supernatural ability that works less as an offensive weapon and more like a flexible utility that allows her complete dominance over her every environment. The power of her mind control ranks her as the strongest psychic in all of Academy City. Thanks to this, she is able to hide behind the crowds of her followers, a hidden rose in the School Garden.

She loves to play around with and tease the life out of those who could be considered her equals. Her attitude is haughty and superior, and her every word puts other people beneath her feet. She is not above putting an entire library of innocent students under her control merely as a show of force and intimidation.

However, when all is said and done, Misaki is still a middle-school girl. She laughs, she smiles, she dreams, and she believes. In spite of the powers that isolate her from the rest of society and make her feared and hated by those around her, she is willing to help out those in need, even if the one asking for her support is her biggest rival.

It is rumored that at one time, after being exposed to her presence for approximately 3 minutes and 28 seconds, many people suddenly felt the urge to support her and become one of her brainwashed peons. Such is the power of Shokuhō Misaki, the starry-eyed psychic of Academy City.
